Due to the nature of the product and the behaviour of the target audience we built the Simplicity New Look website with social media sharing in mind. Each product and each blog post has easy share icons, including Pinterest as this particular social media platform is perfect for this type of product. Simplicity New Look was not previously using this channel but their products were already being discussed there. What we suggested was to tap into an existing audience and make the most out of it.

We are able to measure the volume of “shares” each month and the impact this has upon the website traffic. For example, in April/May 2013 there were over 3,049 social media shares relating to the Simplicity New Look website and this led to a “viral lift” (percentage increase in traffic due to shares and clicks) of over 239% on average.
